On Tuesday morning, under clear skies, the family and friends sailed from San Francisco’s northern waterfront aboard the three-deck cruiser Volare. Passing beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, they headed into the Pacific Ocean to scatter the ashes of Maria Boisa, who died in 2015 at age 32. An avid surfer, Maria had loved the water, and the ocean was chosen as her final resting place.
