INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — July 2026 — The Indianapolis community is mourning the loss of Molly Nelsen Smith, who passed away peacefully at her home on July 12, 2026, at the age of 30. Her passing has left family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken as they remember a compassionate young woman whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for animals and the people closest to her.

A Life of Compassion and Joy

Molly was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warm spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Known for her free-spirited personality and caring heart, she found joy in helping others and creating meaningful connections that will be cherished for years to come.

Passion for Animals

One of Molly’s greatest passions was caring for animals. She adored her dogs, Zeus and Hazel, whom she lovingly considered her children. Her compassion extended beyond her own pets through donations and support for local animal shelters and rescue efforts. Her dedication to animal welfare reflected the kindness that defined every aspect of her life.

Family and Loved Ones

Molly is survived by her loving parents, Todd and Kelly (Stellato) Smith; her brother and sister-in-law, Zach and Luci Smith; her sister and brother-in-law, Ally (Smith) and Andy Adams; her nephews, Taylor Smith, Zander Smith, and Knox Adams; her nieces, Aria Adams, Selah Smith, and Lennon Smith; her grandmothers, Janet Smith and Barbara Littell Taylor; her significant other, Charles Morlock; and numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Neil Smith and Ralph Stellato, and by her beloved cat, Pixie, who held a special place in her heart.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life honoring Molly will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, which would have marked her birthday. Family and friends will gather at Ironwood Social from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to celebrate her life, share cherished memories, and honor the love and joy she brought into the lives of so many.

Although Molly’s life ended far too soon, her legacy of compassion, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to inspire those who knew her.
